Native Network participating in ATNI 2016 Winter Convention

The Associated Tribes of Northwest Indians (ATNI) is in the midst of their winter convention this week, and Native Network is attending as a resource to the energy and telecom committee.

The Winter Convention, hosted by the Suquamish, Lower Elwha Klallam, Jamestown S’Klallam, & Port Gamble S’Klallam tribes, is a bi-annual meeting of Northwest tribes to develop and maintain policies beneficial to the economic viability and sovereignty of tribal nations and lands. In addition, the event provides an opportunity for members of regional tribes to network and learn about each other’s unique cultures through special events.

This winter’s event is taking place at the Clearwater Casino Resort in Suquamish, WA, beginning yesterday, February 1 through Thursday, February 4.

According to the ATNI website, “Over the past 50 years, ATNI has been, and continues to be, a valuable resource to tribes and government agencies. ATNI’s early Tribal leaders, and the leaders of today, fight to preserve the lands, the diverse cultures, and the integrity for all northwest Indian People and Tribes.”
